Christian Tetzlaff and the Minnesota Orchestra: Brahms Violin Concerto
Переглядів 1,3 тис.2 місяці тому
One of the most beloved works for violin and orchestra, this concerto is breathtaking in its musical scope. It is also fiendishly difficult to play-requiring great technical prowess- thanks in part to the soloist for whom Brahms intended it: his friend Joseph Joachim, whose influence shows especially in passages asking for tenths, an interval requiring nimble hands. Christian Tetzlaff performed...

Beautiful playing. Erin's chamber music chops really come through. I love her solo approach which is to soar at the same time as she intimately responds to the music of the orchestra.

I’ve only learned about this composer today and I have been thoroughly impressed. It is so easy for people to say this is generic, AI generated or discredit the artistry of this man’s works but I’d like to see you try to compose anything remotely close to this, I bet you, you can’t nor won’t. I am not saying this is the most groundbreaking, earth shattering, spine tingling symphony I have ever heard but this is worth the listen. I feel like because he’s kinda underrated and not widely talked about like Debussy, Tchaikovsky, Bach, Vivaldi for example, that people are quicker to judge and reject lesser known composers especially if they are of Black descent. Great song. Great musicians. Beautiful conductor. All around amazing video of people playing music that just feeds my musician soul.

I would love to listen to this, but I can't, because they have chosen to submit themselves to the tyranny that requires them to mask up, and to give up their freedoms. Shame on you. You could be setting an example instead, by rejecting the subjugation.

If anyone wanted the program notes from Margaret Bonds, they are as follows. Decision Under the leadership of Martin Luther King Jr. and SCLC, Negroes in Montgomery decided to boycott the bus company and to fight for their rights as citizens. Prayer Meeting True to custom, prayer meetings precede their action. Prayer meetings start quietly with humble petitions to God. During the course of the meeting, members seized with religious fervor shout and dance. Oblivious to their fellow worshippers they exhibit their love of God and their Faith in Deliverance by gesticulation, clapping and beating their feet. March The Spirit of the Nazarene marching with them, the Negroes of Montgomery walked to their work rather than be segregated on the buses. The entire world, symbolically with them, marches. Dawn in Dixie Dixie, the home of the Camellias known as “pink perfection,” magnolias, jasmine and Spanish moss, awakened to the fact that something new was happening in the South. One Sunday in the South Children were in Sunday School learning about Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Southern “die-hards” planted a bomb and several children were killed. Lament The world was shaken by the cruelty of the Sunday School bombing. Negroes, as usual, leaned on their Jesus to carry them through this crisis of grief and humiliation. Benediction A benign God, Father and Mother to all people, pours forth Love to His children - the good and the bad alike.
